From September to October 2022, the Hangzhou Asian Games brought together 11,830 athletes from 45 Asian countries and regions under record-breaking heat that peaked at 38.4°C. The brief: uninterrupted ice across 400+ venues
The Games ran for 16 days across more than 400 competition venues, plus the Athletes’ Village, Media Village, and other logistical zones. KAISON was responsible for meeting the ice supply demand in every designated area — a scale of deployment where a single equipment failure would be immediately visible on an international stage.
Around-the-clock deployment and support
From the initial preparation phase through to the closing ceremony, KAISON formed a dedicated on-site support team of after-sales engineers, backed by a mobile response unit. Machines ran 24 hours a day, with technicians on standby at every critical juncture. Ice-making units were installed at dozens of high-demand locations — including the athletes’ cafeteria, media center, and VIP lounge — and had to withstand both extreme heat and prolonged, high-frequency use.

Even on the most extreme days, when Hangzhou held near 39°C for several days in a row, every unit maintained stable operation — no failures, and no service-disrupting shutdowns.
