You may not have heard of KAISON Refrigerating, but chances are you have used the ice it produces — at Subway, Jollibee, Walmart, or in the laboratories of Tsinghua University. Located in Cixi, Zhejiang, this enterprise quietly operates as a “hidden champion,” delivering cube, bullet, pellet, crescent, flake and milk ice — and even custom specialty shapes — to commercial users in dozens of countries.
With 27 years of experience in commercial refrigeration, KAISON does not sell under its own consumer brand. Instead it serves as the OEM/ODM “backstage factory” for more than 30 domestic and international brands and over 10 leading cross-border e-commerce platforms. It has an annual ice machine capacity of 80,000 units, daily ice output from 20 kg to 1,000 kg, and a lineup spanning countertop, split and under-counter models.
Its long-term partnership with Subway is a typical example of that OEM strength — from ice-shape uniformity to food-safety compliance, KAISON earned trust through FCC, CE and RoHS certifications and the cost advantage of the Cixi industrial cluster. Jollibee deploys KAISON machines in its Southeast-Asian stores, where reliable high-ambient-temperature performance is critical, while Walmart, AUX and SF Express use its solutions in retail and logistics.
KAISON has also entered top universities and high-end hotels: laboratories at Tsinghua, Peking and Zhejiang universities use its research-grade ice makers, which demand exceptional purity and consistent particle size. On the technical side, the company holds several national patents, an equipped R&D lab, ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 systems and FCC/CE/RoHS marks, with annual output of RMB 150 million.
Its role is evolving from “simple processing” to “solution provider” — high-availability designs for chain stores, modular ice makers for cold-chain logistics, and specialty ice for research. As general manager Chou Wufeng puts it: “Perfecting every ice machine we make for our customers — that is our brand.”
